VISA INFORMATION FOR ICC WORLD CUP 2007 CARICOM Special Visa Nine Caribbean countries will be hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup (ICC CWC 2007) during March-April, 2007. These countries are all members of the 16-member Caribbean Community (CARICOM) . Between February 1st and May 15th, 2007, a CARICOM Special Visa will be required of some visitors to Dominica and the nine Caribbean countries hosting CWC 2007. This Special Visa is a critical component of the security measures being introduced to safeguard both visitors to and residents of the Region during CWC 2007. Holders of the Special Visa will be able to move freely between the ten host countries without further immigration formalities after they arrive at any one of the host countries. The Caribbean countries requiring a CARICOM Special Visa for Cricket World Cup 2007 are:
Nationals from the following countries do not need a Caricom Special Visa.
Nationals of all other countries not listed above will need a Caricom Visa. Other Exemptions Nationals of countries who would normally need visas but who already enjoy a form of legal status valid on February 1 2007 conferred by any of the relevant governmental authorities of the ten (10) countries which form the Single Domestic Space WILL NOT require a CARICOM Special Visa. Examples include 1.Accredited Diplomats 2.Permanent Residents 3.Persons holding Immigrant Status 4.Persons with Permission to Reside and Work 5.Holders of Work Permits Persons permitted entry prior to February 1 2007 for example tourists and business persons. Special Circumstances: Cruise Ship Passengers Air to Cruise Ship and Cruise Ship to Air transfers, and Cruise Ship passengers arriving in port and moving directly from one terminal to the other will not require the CARICOM Special Visa. If a cruise ship is in port for less than 24 hours, then a CARICOM Day Pass will be issued to passengers who come ashore. Special Circumstances: Yachts
Student Visa and Work Permit A CARICOM Special Visa does not permit a person to work or study. Persons requiring a work permit or student visa should apply directly to the competent authorities in the relevant Member State.
